Hawks Academy U18’s 8 : 0 Petersfield Town U18’s
In freezing conditions on a 3G surface at Perins School, the Hawks Under 18’s sailed into the next round of the Hants FA Midweek Floodlit Cup with a superb 8 – 0 win over Petersfield Town tonight.
The Hawks were barely troubled throughout the game by a Petersfield side that had all the expected endeavour but which lacked any significant quality. The Hawks kept the ball for long periods of the game with some simple but effective passages of play that pierced the Petersfield defence time and again.
A goal from Lewis Edwards on 25 minutes, sandwiched between goals from Harry Gilbert on 8 and 31 minutes saw the Hawks go in 3 – 0 up at half time.
The second half saw a further 5 goals fly in for the Hawks from debutant Perry Easton on 49 and 51 minutes, Alex Lowley on 78 minutes whilst Lewis Edwards completed his hat-trick with two more goals on 60 and 74 minutes.
In the end, a solid and convincing win that sets up a next round game against Alton Town in two weeks time.
