Player of the Month awards
Wed Feb 18, 2009 : 17:52
With the winter weather playing havoc with home fixtures, the HawkSupport Player of the Month awards have been delayed of late, but are getting caught up quickly.
The latest presentation, made before Saturday’s game against Hayes & Yeading, was for the December award. It went to striker Craig Watkins, who delighted fans with his first Hawks hat-trick scored against Bury in the FA Trophy during that month, and was presented with the award by Malc Jamieson.
Prior to this, now departed loan signing Robbie Matthews was presented with the November award just before Christmas, by Sid Claydon. Robbie played nine games for the Hawks between mid-November and the start of January, before returning to Salibsury City.
The January award will be presented at the next Hawks home game, currently against AFC Wimbledon on 28th Feb. Voting for the award is still open; HawkSupport members can vote by personal message to Thimble on the new Hawks boards, but do remember to include your member number.
